PBS Airing Complete Jane Austen

If you love Jane Austen, you are going to love the next few months on PBS...

Perhaps you are like me and are hopelessly in love with Captain Wentworth (Ciaran Hinds in Persuasion) or Col. Brandon (loved Alan Rickman in Sense and Sensibility), loved Mansfied Park for Austen's critique of the evils of primogeniture, or loved the way Austen 'captured' the use of language to be romantic and poetic. Seductively proper I call it. Perhaps you just want to see the brooding English countryside settings or gaze upon beautiful gowns that are flattering and feminine... and should still be in fashion... set the DVR's to Sunday's Masterpiece Theatre on your local PBS. I think this series will be a big hit. Might be a good time to do a winter quarter study of Austen in the homeschool, and watch the movies to boot.
