Sukkot: The Feast of Tabernacles

Tonight, we celebrate the feast set before us through the harvest, and give thanks to you, O Lord, for the rain that falls from heaven. As we go into our succah (tent or booth- in our case... our RV's) each night, we are reminded each day of forty years... of wondering and wandering...of clouds that shadowed and manna that sustained. Our lulav will wave and we will rejoice that we once again have fellowship with you! As we partake of your goodness tonight, as we celebrate your feast of rejoicing, Sukkot, we remember your Tabernacle among us; first made of cloth and the second formed in dust: through Yeshua...our word, our Torah, made flesh.

Barukh attah Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha-olam she-hecheyahu
vekiyemanu vehigianu lazman hazeh
Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, for keeping us alive,
taking care of us, and bringing us to this time.

You shall keep the Feast of Booths seven days, when you have gathered in the produce from your threshing floor and your winepress. You shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your towns. For seven days you shall keep the feast to the LORD your God at the place that the LORD will choose, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful. Deuteronomy 16:13-15

Dear Carla;

I am so glad that you posted this. I have been trying to study biblical feasts. As a Christian woman, a mother of 3, I am finding that we are missing a great deal of joy from the biblical feasts. Thank you again.

I also started a blog; hope you stop by.

Hi! My mother told me about your blog. She was quite intrigued with your post on Sukkot. She sent me here to read about. I'm thankful she did. Please visit me sometime. :)
